For our daughter’s birthday, my wife and I whipped up a last minute play kitchen from a $9 thrift store TV Cabinet. We bought it two weeks before her birthday, so it still counts as a Build Weekend project.
I have a 1 gallon zip lock bag that I use as my Go Bag for camping, hiking and family road trips. It has the essentials: first aid kit, fire starter, hand sanitizer, a flashlight, a large knife, and several other survival goodies. I’ve used everything in this bag before, so I see that each item gets the proper care and replacement. The zip lock bag, however, was due for an upgrade. Rather than head to the kitchen, I headed for the bedroom closet and grabbed a pair of grungy cargo pants.
A Build Weekend happens when you take the weekend to build something, a project, a product, an idea, anything. A lot can happen in a Build Weekend, I’ve built projects like a triple bunk bed, a now profitable eCommerce website, even a winter hammock camping set up.
